Hi, I'm Som.

I believe the best stories help children see the world a little differently.

The villainous vegetables become the superheroes. The mischievous fairies become the babysitters. The strange recipes save the day.

I love writing joyful, rhyming adventures where the most unexpected characters become the heroes, because I hope every child finishes the story wondering what hidden magic they might discover in themselves.

When I'm not dreaming up dragons, fairies and talking vegetables, you'll usually find me bringing my stories to life in schools, festivals and family events. My sessions are packed with laughter, joining in and just a little bit of delightful chaos - because I believe stories are at their best when children become part of the adventure.

Before all this, I spent nearly twenty years in consulting - helping some of the world's biggest brands build their strategies and tell their stories. These days, I'm much happier telling stories about honey heists, heroic vegetables and fairy chefs.

I was honoured to be selected as one of just 11 writers for Penguin Random House's WriteNow programme, and my dream is simple: to bring joy to millions of children by creating stories that they ask to hear again and again.
